She sat perched up in her spot on top of the pillar surrounding Central park. It was late, and she had just come from visiting Azrael DeMarius..her exboyfriend.
After everyone earlier had left in a pissy mood from the tavern, she had went with the intention of settling things there and then. It had been weird, just as the first time she had seen him again had been, but she let him know...it was over, game time was over, and for him to either lay low or go away.
Then she had come here to ponder more. She was pissed still. Az (her current lover) and her had never truly argued before tonight, and that had left a very bitter taste in her mouth. Tears tried welling up again, and she growled them back down. She wasn't one to cry, and damnit she wasn't going to start now over a man. That time was long gone.
Finally she leapt off of the pillar and started slowly across the park, her head down and not truly paying much attention about her, so lost in thought she was. Occasionally she checked her phone, hoping for a text from Az, for whatever reason..but none ever came, and she was too stubborn to try herself. Finally she sat on a bench and leaned over, her elbows coming to her knees, and her hands in her face, and she began to weep.

Since coming back from Albany, Iz had made himself scarce doing whatever it is that he does and now, Lilah was bored. She had tormented the others that worked for Iz with incessant questions about this place she had beend dropped into while following the blinking glow of fireflies one evening. Even the guards at the gate had learned to duck out of sight when the saw Delilah coming so on this night she wandered through the front gate of the compound without so much as a word from the men cowering in the tiny shack.
Soon she was strolling through the city streets and was dismayed to find not a soul to talk to. She found a can in the gutter and kicked it down the street but soon lost interest in that game as it was not truely fun when played by only one person. She had just passed a toy store when she had to stop and go back, nose pressed to the glass of the window as a child might. There in a small chair sat the biggest teddy she had ever seen! Without a thought she broke the glass and nabbed the bear then as an after thought dug in her pocket to lay a few bills down in the seat of the chair before she skipped off with her prize.
Lilah and her new best friend were touring the Park when they heard the soft sobbing of a woman. Bear held in both hands she held it out at arms length. " Well, what you think Ted? " She cocked her head to one side and 'listened' to the toy. " Mhm, you're right. You go first since you the man. Yup. " And with bear still held before her she moved slowly in on Mika and then stepped around front of her. " What'sa matter pretty lady? "

The place had been deserted, and well, she had been too torn in her own thoughts to notice anyone approaching. If she had, those tears would've stopped rather quickly. As it were..she was caught, and that pissed her off.
Mika's head snapped up and a low growl was given, her hands having quickly brushed away those tears. With all the bullshit the last week, and her lack of being aware after being attacked the other day, well, that just managed to up her irritation. Not with the woman before her, but with herself. "Nothing. Leave me be.."
She said it rather harshly and rose up quickly, spinning on her heel and walking back towards the enterance.

The rapid change in the lady caused a little concern in Lilah. Pulling Ted E. close to her she hugged him tightly as she watched the woman wipe away the tears. " Don't be embarrassed pretty lady. I do that too, " she paused, head tilting a bit as she watched the woman stand. " you know cry and dunno why. " She was a little put out when Mika started walking away but Lilah was undaunted and followed, skipping once to fall in next to her. " You know, Ted here is a good listener, but he ain't much good to play with. " She didn't really think she would get much of a reaction so plunged on ahead. " I saw a playground back there. You wanna play with me? "

"Look lady.." Mika growled and spun around to face the woman. God, she reminded her somewhat of Roxanne. Geez..there can't be two, can there? "I dont' want to be bothered, okay? So how about you and...Ted...go play at the playground yourself. Get lost.."
She turned and continued down the path.

" How Rude. " Scowling she continued to follow Mika. " Name's not Lady. " Huffing she hurried her pace to keep up. " I'm Lilah. " Yup, she said that all proud like and if you really thought about it, could almost picture the girl looking like Elli Mae from the Beverly Hillbillies with thumbs hooked in her pockets and swaying back and forth. Of course, Ellie would never have Ted E tucked under her arm. " I dun wanna play by myself. It's kinda dark over there, ya know? " If Mika would actually meet Lilah's eyes she would see those big baby blues pleading with her. " I'm bored. You come play? "

"NO!" She snarled, and continued to move at that fast pace. Ugh, what was it with annoying twits? It had taken her days to detach Roxy from her. She glanced back to Lilah. "Ya dun wanna play with me, girl....so jus' back off and leave me alone."
Mika was starting to feel homicidal.

That was definately rude. As Mika picked up the pace she paused long enough to look at Ted E. " Something crawled up her butt and made her mean. Mhm. Maybe you should check it out? " Noticing that the woman was getting away she almost ran to catch up to her but remained a few paces behind. She looked down at Ted and nodded her head. " Yeah, you're right. No scuba gear. " Lilah shrugged then. " Oh well. " Time to play a new game then. Follow the leader and that was what she did. Followed Mika and mimiced all her actions.

Mika reached the corner, and stepped around quickly, and seemed to meld with the shadows, disappearing from view.

She thought it was another game when Mika turned the corner and seemed to literally disappear. Retucking Ted into the crook of her arm she jumped up and down while clapping. " Oooh! That was neat! Show me? " When Mika had yet to reappear after a few minutes Lilah stopped her clapping and began to search the trees and bushes. " Pretty Lady? You can come out now. I won't tell your secret. "
Lilah was crestfallen to discover she had been left alone.
She sat down on the concrete and hugged Ted to her chest and was almost ready to cry when it hit her. " Ted? " She turned the bear to look into the toys fuzzy face. " You know what? I know what she smells like. " Grinning she stood up and dusted off the seat of her pants before taking off in the direction she thought Mika might have gone, nose tilted up as she cast around for Mika's scent.

Mika had long fled the place where she had encountered Lilah.
Days later, she was in her own office, papers spread about her desk as she pondered over numbers, frowning a bit. She never was the business type person and the paperwork she always waited til late to work on it. She still hadn't seen Azrael in days, and she had decided to bury herself in her work to get away from the panicked feeling she was feeling.

Royce was having a good day for once. She hadn't fought with Kenji...but then again, she had been out of town, having been 'kidnapped' by her mate. It was an eye opening experience..his way of...'reclawing' her as he put it. The attack of the grizzly had reawoken something in her, and now as she moved down the street, well..it wasn't with the stealth as it usually was. Instead, it shouted out the confidence that had found her for now. She was dressed in a business suit of all things, a white one, sunglasses hiding those green rimmed pupils, and her hair pulled up in a fashionable bun. Anyone who knew who she was, probably wouldn't recognize her on first glance.
The fear of the 'small asian midgets' of Mika's had faded, and hell, the Russians? She hadn't given them a second thought, not knowing the conflict going on really as she went about her business. She stopped midday at a Subway, and then finding Mika through text messages, she went ahead and headed for Mika's office. Seemed the girl was in need of some help.

Weeks after the birth, Sora began to get...itchy feet. So she got her infant son, Jacob, all packed up in his stroller, smiling softly and cooing to him the whole time, and packed some diapers, bottles, and all that stuff in the back of it, and set out for a nice long walk. She was soooo happy that she could finally fit into her slacks again! along with a red haltertop. Hair was pulled into a ponytail, and shades were settled over those ebony hues.
She walked along the streets of the city for a time, and finally turned herself down to look for Mika. Damn the woman, but she hadn't even come to see her beautiful son since his birth! A smile tugged at her lips. She'd go see her instead...and find out exactly what she had been missing over the last weeks since she's been out on her maternity leave.

Mika was still in her office, growing more aggitated by the minute. After sending the text to Royce to where she was, she finally got up and went down the elevator, moving to the front door and standing under the canopy out of the sun. She pulled her cigarettes out, lighting one, and just watched and waited, her gaze scanning the streets. More often than not, she spotted spies out watching the place, and the fact that Azrael was out of town...well, it didn't make her comfortable at all. Especially considering the attempt made at her on Ellis Island.
She continued to smoke that cigarette, not realizing the drama about to unfold...as Royce came strolling up one side of the street, and Sora came up the other. Hell, she hadn't even noticed either one of them at first glance...she hadn't been expecting Royce to be looking so professional, and it hadn't sunk in yet that Sora had her baby and now would be pushing a stroller.

Royce paused at a window to an Historic shop, peering in for a moment. She had spotted Mika, and well, her cousin could wait a moment, couldn't she? She noted some things in the shop that she hadn't seen in centuries, and then naturally some artifacts that were just not historically accurate at all.
A few moments later she set off again, her lips curling into a smile as she came closer to Mika, watching as the woman looked dead at her then away. Had she looked that much different? Apparently so...
She stepped next to her and smirked, "Yanno those things will kill ya one day..."
